Mark Sanchez says he plans to play and plans to start for the Jets when the season begins. Sanchez had the worst Quarterback rating in the NFL last season. Geno Smith,  who was drafted by the Jets this offseason says that he wouldn't be disappointed if that happened.

Meanwhile, recently acquired running back Mike Goodson impressed the coaches yesterday on the field at the volunteer " Organized Team Activities". Goodson worked with all three Jets QB's during yesterday's workouts.

Rob Pannell from Cornell has won the Tewaaraton Award for being the Best Collegiate Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year. Pannell set an NCAA record for points in a career with 354, 102 coming this season.

SUNY Cortland Senior Defender Jessica Lavelle has been named the Intercollegiate Woman's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division III Defender Of the Year. Lavelle collected 58 caused turnovers and 68 ground balls this past season.

The Syracuse Crunch play game for of the American Hockey League's Eastern Conference Finals with the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins tonight in the Keystone State. The Crunch are up 2 games to 1 in the set.

In Minor League Baseball, The Syracuse Chiefs shut out Gwinnett 5-0 and the Binghamton Mets beat Altoona 6-4.
