Sidebottom (5-0, 1.87 ERA) struck out five and allowed an unearned run. Sage Brown went 3-for-3 and drove in a run.
Connor Manderson cracked a two-run home run and Mark Chanatry pitched the win to lead defending Class A champion and No. 1 seed New Hartford to a 5-1 win over No. 5 Homer on Sunday. The Spartans (13-9) will play No. 3 Cortland 1 p.m. on Monday at DeLutis Field in Rome. Chanatry scattered two hits and struck out seven in holding Homer to just one run in the third inning. He aided his own cause at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
