The Red Dragons survived in baseball yesterday with a win against RPI 5-2, in an elimination game at the NCAA Div. III Baseball New York Regional. Cortland (37-10) is one of three schools remaining in the eight-team, double-elimination tournament. In softball, Cortland rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh as the Red Dragons upset nationally top-ranked Salisbury University, 2-1, to open play at the NCAA Div. III Softball World Series.The Red Dragons (33-15) will face Luther College (Iowa) today at 4pm (Central) in a winner's bracket game.

Checking high school sports now, In softball, Cortland High over Homer High 5-2. In boys lacrosse Cortland High is at LaFayette today Noon and Homer High is at Cazenovia at 3pm. In girls lacrosse, Homer High is at Mexico at Noon, and Tully takes on Jordan-Elbridge at 10am.

In the AHL, the Syracuse Crunch over Springfield 5-2 as they sweep in the Eastern Conference Finals.

In NHL Stanley Cup Playoff action, Pittsburgh over Ottawa 4-3. Detroit and Chicago meet this afternoon at 1pm and LA and San Jose meet at 9pm.

In MLB action, the Yankees blank Toronto 5-0, Boston over Minnesota 3-2 and the Mets over the Cubs 3-2.

In NBA Playoff action today, the Knicks take on the Pacers tonight at 8pm.
