In softball, Cortland beat Plattsburgh yesterday in a 13-Inninning thriller 2-1.the Red Dragon women do remain unbeaten in the SUNYAC Tourney. Cortland (26-14) is 2-0 entering today and is one of three teams still alive. Plattsburgh (23-15) and Geneseo are both 2-1. Cortland will face Plattsburgh today at 11am and Geneseo will follow at 1pm. If the Red Dragons win both games, they win the SUNYAC title. If they lose both games, Plattsburgh and Geneseo will play for the title tomorrow. If Cortland wins one of the two games, it will play the team it loses to again tomorrow for the championship.
In baseball, the top-seeded and nationally third-ranked Red Dragons opened the four-team, double-elimination SUNYAC Tournament yesterday with an 11-3 win over fourth-seeded Fredonia at Wallace Field. The Red Dragons (32-9) will face third-seeded Oswego in a winner's bracket game today at 1pm and Fredonia (18-15) will play second-seeded New Paltz in an elimination game at 10am.
In womens lacrosse, the nationally fourth-ranked Red Dragons defeated The College at Brockport, 16-6, in the SUNYAC Semifinals yesterday afternoon at the Stadium Complex. The Red Dragons (17-1) advanced to their 15th consecutive conference title game where they will face third-seeded Geneseo today at 3:30pm.
In mens lacrosse, Cortland hosts second-seeded Plattsburgh in the SUNYAC Final today at Noon.
In boys lax, Homer over Fulton 10-4, Cortland high plays Homer tonight at 6pm. In girls lax, LaFayette over Westhill 14-11. In girls softball, Cortland High falls to Mexico 11-8. In boys baseball, Marathon fell to Whitney Point 10-5.
