The Syracuse Men's Lacrosse team lost in double-overtime to Albany 16-15 yesterday on opening day at the Carrier Dome. JoJo Marasco scored 3 goals and dished out 5 assists for the Orange, who will host Army next Sunday at the dome. 

The S.U. Women's Lacrosse team also was upset yesterday ... by Maryland 19-11.

The Orange Men's Basketball team hosts Providence Wednesday Night at 7pm ... coverage on Oldies 101.5 begins with Orange Pregame at 6:30.

The SUNY Cortland Men's Basketball team clinched the SUNYAC outright this weekend, and will host the conference " Final Four " this weekend at Corey Gym. Cortland, the top seed, will play at 8pm on Friday night vs. the winner of a first round game between (5) Brockport and (4) Oswego at Oswego tomorrow night. Plattsburgh is the second seed and will tangle with the winner of tomorrow night's first round matchup between (3) Geneseo and (6) New Paltz, to be played at Geneseo, in Friday night's opening game which starts at 6 pm. The Championship game is Saturday at 4pm.

Some area High School wrestlers are headed to the State Tournament this weekend in Albany. Ithaca High's Rickie Burke is entered at 132 in Division 1. In Division 2, Lansing's William Koll (126) and Conner Lapresi (138) are seeded. Wild Card entries include Cortland's Zack Alexander at 126, Whitney Point's Jordan Torbitt at 138 and Homer's Mark Dove at 170.

In the AHL yesterday, Syracuse beat Scranton/Wilkes Barre 3-0 and Binghamton edged Albany 3-2.
