The Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball team fell at U-Conn 66-58 last night in the final Big East Meeting between the two schools. Michael Carter-Williams led Syracuse with 15 points, James Southerland added 14 and Jerami Grant tallied 5 points and a team-high 9 rebounds. The Orange travel to Seton Hall for a Saturday Night Showdown with the Pirates beginning at 8pm ... Orange Pregame starts at 7:30.

In other Big East action last night, Notre Dame got by Depaul 82-78 in overtime and Providence knocked of South Florida 76-66. Tonight, St Johns visits Louisville.

The SUNY Cortland Men's Basketball team has secured the top seed in the upcoming SUNYAC tournament and will host the Semi-finals and Championship game on February 22nd and 23rd at Corey Gym. A pair of first round games will take place on the 19th ... and we'll post the Friday lineup on Wednesday the 20th here.

The TC3 Men's Basketball team has also clinched the top seed in their Mid-State Conference Tournament ... as they beat OCC. last night 101-91. Coach Dave Stevenson picked up his 100th win as Panthers coach.

The TC3 Women were not as fortunate .. falling to the Lazors 77-57. Meghan Ideman tallied 8 points and 5 rebounds for the Panthers.

The Section III Girls Basketball brackets have been announced .... Cortland is the 7th seed in Class "A" and will travel to Whitesboro next Tuesday night. In Class "C",  Top Seed Fabius-Pompey hosts (8) Morrisville-Eaton, (6) Lafayette is at (3) Onondaga and (7) Tully is at (2) Thousand Islands ... all this Friday ... and in Class "D" (5) Cincinnatus hosts (12) Otselic Valley ... also this Friday.

The Section III Boys Hoops pairings are expected to come out today.

The Section III Girls Volleyball championships are Saturday at Chittenango. The Class "D" final pits Cincinnatus vs. Stockbridge Valley, while the Class "C-1" title match features Tully against Lowville.
