The Syracuse Men's Basketball team will will head to Pittsburgh this Saturday for a date with the Panthers ... as they look to rebound from their first Big East loss of the season ... the game starts at Noon Saturday, with Orange pregame at 11:30am. Syracuse, with the injury to Dajuan Coleman and the ongoing eligibility issue with James Southerland, now has just seven scholorship players on their bench headed into Saturday's showdown with the Panthers.

The SUNY Corland Basketball teams both saw large halftime leads diminish but went to defeat The College at Brockport. The Men won a thriller 85-75 in overtime. Brockport's Brandon Caruthers hit a half-court prayer at the buzzer to send the game into the extra 5 ... but Senior Guard Jesse Winter tallied 8 points, all on Free Throws, in the extra frame, to lead the Red Dragons to the win which, with a 9-2 record, put them, by percentage points, into first place in the SUNYAC as Geneseo lost on the road 70-50 at Oswego last night. Winter finished with a team-high 19 points on the night.

As for the Lady Red Dragons, their 19 point halftime lead was cut to three with seconds left, but a three at the buzzer was off the mark, and Cortland held on for a 59-56 win over Brockport. Freshman Caysea Cohen scored 17 points for the Red Dragons ... who are 5-6 on the season ... are tied with three other teams and battling for a spot in the six-team SUNYAC Postseason Tournament in two weeks.
