The Syracuse Men's Basketball team will get back to the classroom and practice this week and will head to Pittsburgh this Saturday for a date with the Panthers ... as they look to rebound from their first Big East loss of the season ... the game starts at Noon Saturday, with Orange pregame at 11:30am.

The SUNY Cortland Basketball teams host The College At Brockport tomorrow night ... the Ladies tip at 6pm with Cortland trying to rebound from a los at Oswego Saturday night. The guys get going at 8pm as they try to keep pace with Geneseo ... the first place Knights and Cortland both have two losses on the season, but Geneseo has two more wins (10-2 ... Cortland is 8-2) in the conference.

Carmelo Anthony tallied 42 points, including 9 three-pointers, as the Knicks squeaked by Atlanta 106-104 last night.

In the NHL yesterday, Washington beat Buffalo 3-2, the Islanders fell to Winnipeg 5-4 and Montreal beat New Jersey 4-3.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman says he expects Alex Rodriguez to play this year. Appearing on a New York radio show recently, Cashman said there's always a chance for serious complications with a surgury like A-Rod had, but he didn't think there were any in his third-baseman's case.
