The Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball team travels to Villanova for a late-morning tip this Saturday at 11am. Orange Pregame begins at 10:30 on Oldies 101.5.
The TC3 Men's and Women's Basketball teams both defeated Cayuga Community College yesterday. The Women won 70-41 behind Dryden Native Audrey-Kate Ordway's 24 points, 19 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals and 2 assists, and Moravia native Meghan Ideman's 18 points. The Panthers Men's team also won 72-60 behind Devin Redden's 18 Points.
Two Cortland High grads had strong outings for their college teams last night. The Morrisville State Men's Basketball team beat Wells College 71-58, with Jordan Prior's 26 points the game high for the Mustangs. Meanwhile, Maggie Brown's 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals were not enough as the Lemoyne Women's Basketball team fell to U-Mass/Lowell 69-52. Brown was one of three players to hit the 12 point mark in the loss.
The SUNY Cortland Wrestling Team, ranked 4th in the nation, had to come from behind but defeated Oneonta State. The Mens and women's Swimming and Diving teams posted much easier wins over Oswego yesterday.
High School Sports from last night ... Boys Basketball: Whitney Point beat Homer 67-56, Blessed Virgin Mary over Deruyter 63-50 and Tully beat Manlius-Pebble Hill 61-35. In that game, Tully's Daniel Morse hit the 1,000 point mark for his career. In Girls Basketball, Cortland defeated ES-M 57-51 and Otselic Valley beat Deruyter 35-30. In Wrestling, Marcellus defeated Fabius-Pompey.
Sources close to the Jets say owner Woody Johnson has " no confidence " that he can resign Darelle Revis when his contract runs out at the end of next season. Reports say the Jets might trade Revis if the deal is right.
