The Syracuse Men's Basketball team has a week free of games while they take final exams ... the Orange will be back in action vs. Canisius on Saturday night. The game begins at 7 in the dome with Orange Pregame at 6:30 on Oldies 101.5.

The New York Jets (6-7) travel to Tennessee for next week's Monday Night Football clash. We will join that game after SU/Detroit Basketball.

The Jets have been awarded Wide Receiver Braylon Edwards off waivers from Seattle. Edwards was a Jet until 2009 and has been critical of the way the team has handled the Mark Sanchez situation in recent days, although he did apologize for the hostile " Tweets " he posted and cited his strong friendship with Sanchez as the reason for his outbursts.

One time Syracuse Kicker Olindo Mare has been picked up by the Chicago Bears to replace Robbie Gould, who was put on Injured Reserve due to a Calf Injury.

Four SUNY Cortland Football players have been named to the ECAC South All-Star team ... they are Offensive Lineman Randy Bloom, Defensive Lineman Vaughn Labor, Cornerback Pete Furey and Kicker Mike Debole.

In High School Sports Tuesday: Boys Hoops: Cincinnatus Over Deruyter 43-24, J-D over Homer 53-29 and Fabius-Pompey over Tully 55-51. Girls Hoops: J-D over Homer 51-32. In Boys Hockey, the Cortland-Homer Golden Eagles knocked off Baldwinsville 5-2 and in Girls Volleyball it was Faith Heritage over Fabius-Pompey 3 sets to 1.
