Due to damage caused by Super storm Sandy, SUNY Cortland's Football game with William Paterson was canceled yesterday and will not be rescheduled. Cortland finishes as the outright Champion of the NJAC (New Jersey Athletic Conference) and will begin NCAA Postseason play on November 17th ... up first, next Saturday ... Cortaca.

The Red Dragons Men's and Women's Soccer teams have dates in their tournament Semi-Finals tomorrow ... The Ladies will play Brockport at 11am at Roberts Wesleyan (moved due to storm) while the Men Travel to play the hosts at 11am in Plattsburgh (also moved due to the storm). The winners of the semi-finals meet Saturday at 1pm (both tournaments) for the Championships and automatic births in the NCAA playoffs.

Meanwhile, in the High School Girls Soccer playoffs, the Cincinnatus Red Lions beat Remson 3-2 to advance to the Section III Clas "D" finals against Poland on Saturday. Poland beat Copenhagen 1-0 yesterday to advance to the finals.

At the request of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, tonight's NBA game between the Knicks and Nets at the New Barclays Center in Brooklyn was postponed with no makeup set yet ... and no work on the Knicks home opener on Friday night as well ...

... However, Mayor Bloomberg did announce that Sunday's New York City Marathon will take place as scheduled, despite storm damage along the course.
