The Yankees and Mets are both experiencing troubles with their pitching staff ... The Yankees sent Ivan Nova back to New York for an examination of his pitching shoulder by team doctors. Nova has complained of tightness and soreness recently. The Yanks got some good news when it was announced yesterday that ace C.C. Sabathia will return to the rotation Friday against the Indians.

Meanwhile the Mets have shut down Johan Santana for the rest of the season due to inflamation in his back. Santana, who's already recovering from should surgury, is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

The Syracuse Men's Baseketball team will meet the Colgate Raiders on November 25th at the Dome. It will be the 165th meeting between the two schools in Men's Hoops.

The New York Jets' take on the Carolina Panthers Sunday night in their third pre-season game starting at 8pm. The pregame show on Oldies 101.5 starts at 7pm.

Our High School and College Football coverage begin next week as well ... the Cortland/Homer game will be week 1 of our high school coverage Thursday night August 30th at 7pm (6:45 Pregame) and the SUNY Cortland Red Dragons open at Buffalo State on Saturday September 1st at noon (11:25 pregame).
