Roger Daltrey Set For October Rock N' Roll Fantasy Camp
Roger Daltrey has signed on to appear at the upcoming Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp set for October 16th through 19th in Ledyard, Connecticut at the Foxwoods Resort Casino. Daltrey, who's been a longtime participant in the Fantasy camp, instructing participants in the ins and outs of performing live, said in a statement: "I feel quite passionate that anything that encourages people in music, just to see people with enthusiasm having fun even though they’re all different abilities. . . rise to the occasion, it's fantastic!"
Participants in the four-day Fantasy Camp will be placed in a band with such heavyweights and notables as Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke, Rick Derringer, Aerosmith substitute bassist David Hull, drummer Joe Vitale of Joe Walsh and Crosby Stills, & Nash fame, among others.
We asked Roger Daltrey what he thinks is the main appeal is for rock fans to sign up for the Fantasy Camp: "I suppose it's just for them to meet someone who's got a rock n' roll fantasy they aspire to, I suppose. It's really good fun. It takes me back to the reasons why I did it in the first place -- 'cause it is fun."
Released this week is new the Who's new CD/DVD set Quadrophenia: Live In London. The disc was recorded on July 8th, 2013 during the Who’s tour-closing concert at London’s Wembley Arena. The collection is available in seven different configurations -- including a five-disc metal box.
