Peter Frampton Unveils Title Track To 'Hummingbird In A Box' Album
Peter Frampton has just uploaded the title track to his upcoming mini-album, Hummingbird In A Box - Songs From The Ballet. The new set is due out on June 24th and marks the first new Frampton music since the 2010 release of Thank You Mr. Churchill. The piece was commissioned by and performed with the Cincinnati Ballet in April 2013.
Frampton is gearing up for his upcoming summer trek -- which can now actually be considered a summer and fall tour, seeing as how he and the band have stretched things out to run all the way into the beginning of October. He told us that, like always, the shows will spotlight his choice picks from the past -- as well as the new material which needs to find a place in his repertoire: "I’ve been going through some of the old albums and thinking about what to do. You know me, there’s new stuff, as well; there’s a couple from the ballet that I will probably do. I don’t know what my criteria is for choosing the old ones or what I’m willing to do. It’s just with me, it’s always a gut feeling of: if it feels good when we rehearse it, we’ll do it, y’know?"
