Peter Frampton Adds Midwest Stops, Announces LP Street Date
Peter Frampton has just added four new dates to his summer itinerary. The famed guitarist, who'll release his new studio set, Hummingbird In A Box on June 24th, has just tagged on shows in Sterling Heights, Michigan; New Lenox, Illinois; Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; and Littleton, Colorado. Hummingbird In A Box, which was co-written by Frampton and longtime collaborator Gordon Kennedy, marks the first new Frampton music since the 2010 release of Thank You Mr. Churchill. The piece was commissioned by and performed with the Cincinnati Ballet in April 2013.
Frampton told us that it's very easy for fans to think that an artist is doing nothing in between albums and tours: "There's high-profile periods, and there's low-profile periods. And people think when you're writing and composing and recording a, a new record, they think you've disappeared off the face of the earth. I'm constantly working, but now I realize you can't always be putting out. You have to have times when you have to take a break, so that you can take in, y'know, recharge."
