Jackson Browne will be heading back out on the road this summer for more solo acoustic dates. Browne, who also hit the road on his own in 2013, kicks things off on July 2nd at Omaha, Nebraska’s Orpheum Theater and wraps the run up on August 23rd at Baltimore, Maryland’s Hippodrome Theatre at the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. Along the way, he’ll be making stops in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut -- with multiple stops in Montana, Wisconsin, and New York.
In addition to his more recent work, Jackson Browne's recent shows also include such classics as "Boulevard," "Running On Empty," and his breakthrough hit "Doctor My Eyes." Browne says that "Doctor My Eyes" was the result of writing on a broken piano: "The piano had a broken key -- you'd see the hammer hit the key, and it would bounce back and hit it again. So every time you pressed down once -- 'bonk' -- it would go 'bonk-onk.' And if you did it in the right tempo, it'd go 'da-gong-a-dong-a-dong-a-dong-a-dong.' (Laughs) It was kind of trippy. Anyway, so, I was playing around with that, and I wrote it -- I wrote it based on that one little sound thing."
