Lynyrd Skynyrd & Bad Company Teaming Up For 10-date Summer Run
Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company will once again be heading out on the road together for a 10-date summer run. Things kick off on July 10th in Bangor, Maine at Waterfront and goes through July 25th when the shows wind down in Clarkston, Michigan at the DTE Energy Music Theatre. In the tour announcement, both band’s frontmen Johnny Van Zant and Paul Rodgers sang their touring partner’s praises, with Van Zant saying: "We’re looking forward to being out on tour with our friends, Bad Company. Last year was great! If you want to see good rock n' roll, come check this out."
Paul Rodgers added: "Last year's tour with our friends in Skynyrd was a fantastic time for all. We're looking forward to spending ten dates with them and our fans again this summer."
We asked Paul Rodgers, who has always focused on the future rather than delving into his past, how its felt being back on stage with Bad Company reclaiming their legacy over the past few years: "It is kind of going back in some way -- and I was reluctant to do it initially. We did the show at the Hard Rock. It was kind of cool to be playing back again -- we found the old spark, and I think that's what was exciting about doing the DVD. I think there is a certain chemistry. And I know that's a well-used word, but there is with certain bands. And when you come back together, when we did anyway, it was very exciting and the crowd reaction was incredible."
