Yes Announces 34-City U.S. Summer Tour
Yes is coming back to the U.S. in a big way -- with an extended 34-city cross-country trek featuring their classic albums Fragile and Close To The Edge performed in their entirety. Pollstar reported that in addition too the full-length albums, the band will play a "greatest hits encore set that will also include selections from the band’s latest effort -- Heaven And Earth." The new album is set for release on July 8th -- the tour’s opening night.
The latest lineup of Yes now consists of Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, and new frontman Jon Davison. The summer run starts on July 8th at Boston's Blue Hills Bank Pavilion and wraps up on August 24th at L.A.'s Greek Theatre.
Bassist Chris Squire admitted to us that the combination of Yes and new frontman Jon Davison both sounds and feels great: "Well, we feel very luck and fortunate to an extent that our paths have crossed. We'd known about him, actually from a few years back and quite how I forgot (laughs) that he'd come up in conversations I'd had with Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, who went to school with him. Taylor always said to me, 'Oh, y'know, if you ever need someone to sing, I've got this guy!' 'OK, Taylor, thanks (laughs),' y'know?"
