Barry Gibb Still Mourning Lost Bothers
Bee Gees fans are gearing up for what may be their final chance at seeing one of the surviving Gibb brothers when Barry Gibb hits the road later this spring. Gibb, whose backing band features his oldest son Stephen on guitar and late brother Maurice's daughter Samantha on vocals, will showcase the Bee Gees' entire career on his upcoming road trek, dubbed the Mythology tour.

Barry told CNN that the 2012 death of his last brother, Robin Gibb, shattered his extended family -- and reopened the wounds around the deaths of brother Maurice in 2003 and Andy in 1988: "I did mope around for a few months, good few months. And the whole family did. Nobody really knew how to deal with it all, because it's the loss of three brothers."

He spoke about the death of Andy, who although never an official member of the Bee Gees, collaborated with Barry on nearly all his recordings: "He was only 30 years old. So it was all of that. And then we had to go through that valley, you know, the whole family. Even now, my mother is still. . . one way or the other, she goes up and she goes down."

Barry shed light on the only other surviving Gibb sibling -- older sister Leslie -- who performed with Barry and Maurice in the late-'60s when Robin briefly left the group: "(She) lives in Australia and, I think, the last count, (had) eight children. So she's keeping it all going in her way. Leslie, me and mum. And, uh, we have the memories now. We have the memories."

Barry Gibb recalled that in late 1966 after the Gibb family sailed to their native England from their adopted home in Australia to seek fame and fortune, they were surprised at the sight they encounter upon docking in Southampton: "There was a pop group standing on the docks, dressed like the Beatles were dressed like in Help!, and they said to us, 'Don't go any further.

Go back to Australia. Groups are out.' That became the main -- the mantra that we heard no matter where we went: 'Groups are out. You haven't got a chance.'" ;">June 4 - Los Angeles, CA - Hollywood Bowl
