Mick Fleetwood: Fleetwood Mac Sessions Set For March, Fall Tour Being Planned
Thursday, January 30, 2014
It's looking like Fleetwood Mac will be hitting the road with their first new studio album featuring Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham in over 25 years, according to FleetwoodMacNews.com. During a chat with Maui News, drummer Mick Fleetwood revealed that McVie, who's rejoined the band following an 18-year hiatus, has been composing new material which will be among the news songs the band plans on tracking in March, during their first "five-man" sessions since 1987's Tango In The Night. Fleetwood also let it slip that Fleetwood Mac will hit the road with McVie sometime this fall.
Although Lindsey Buckingham admits that there have always been tensions surrounding Fleetwood Mac, he feels that the band has yet reached the end of its run together: "We are all friends, I would say quite honesty Fleetwood Mac is still a work in progress. There are pieces of baggage probably that still remain that are in the process of being worked through. I mean, we consider ourselves a band that is not broken up, but we don't see each other a lot, so the distance sort of keeps us from working through things at a quicker pace. But no, I think there are a few chapters left to go."
