David Crosby Releases First New Studio Album In 20 Years
Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Out today (January 28th) is Croz -- David Crosby's first solo album in over 20 years. Following a warm-up gig earlier this month in Santa Barbara, California, Crosby and his band kick off their proper 16-date tour off tonight with the first show of a three-night run at New York City's City Winery. The album was co-produced by Crosby's son keyboardist James Raymond and Daniel Garcia. Crosby's last solo studio set, Thousand Roads, was released on May 23rd, 1993.
We caught up with Crosby and asked him about fitting his new material in with just about 50 years' worth of already proven classic material: "Well, we did the first one the other night and it worked. I was scared witless. (Laughs) You just don't go out and sing the entire first set of music they've never heard before -- but we did. And it worked and they liked it. And so that's probably what I'm going to continue to do. First set'll be the album, second set will be stuff from my whole life of music."
