The Allman Brothers Band Announce Third Annual Peach Music Festival
The Allman Brothers Band's third annual Peach Music Festival is set for August 14th through the 17th, according to Pollstar. The event, which will take place at Scranton, Pennsylvania's Pavilion At Montage Mountain, "will feature two headlining sets from the Allman Brothers, including a set to close out the weekend." We asked longtime Allmans and Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes how a band like the Allmans can keep the group together playing less than two dozen dates a year and not embarking on an overseas tour in well over 20 years: "The band does pretty well financially, but maybe that contributes to their being a demand year after year because they don't saturate (the market).
Me, personally, I was one of the people that pushed for a long time -- 'Hey, let's go to Europe, let's go to all these places that Gov't Mule eventually went to and finally Gregg (Allman) went, as well.' And now, some people are sayin,' maybe we should start thinkin' about goin' to some of these other places -- I'm like, 'Yeah, 15 years ago.' They could've cultivated an amazing following over there, but we've gone once since I've been in the band."
The Allman Brothers Band will next perform on January 10th at Atlanta's Fox Theatre at the All My Friends: Celebrating The Songs & Voice Of Gregg Allman tribute concert.
