The Rolling Stones have added five new international stops to their upcoming road trek, which is now dubbed, the 14 On Fire Tour. The 2014 tour will kick off on February 21st in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, followed by a three-night stand at Japan's Tokyo Dome, and a single show in Macau, China before launching their tour of Down Under on March 19th in Perth, Australia. Once again, Mick Taylor will join the band on the road as their special guest.
Mick Jagger told us that even 50 years into a career a band needs to constantly change and evolve to keep growing: "You have to keep yourself from repeating yourself. It's very difficult to do in anything; whether you're a writer or a journalist or a painter or whatever. So you have to. . . especially the rock business is very narrow. It's like a political party with very few views in it. And as soon as you stay from it, everyone goes, 'Wo, oh no! Wait a minute!' If you do a rock show with 25 half-naked dancers everyone will go, 'Oh, no -- but it's awful! Y'know, you can't do that.'"
Although drummer Charlie Watts has been in the public eye for most of his life, unlike some of his bandmates, he hasn't been enticed by celebrity: "Obviously, it's very flattering, it's like saying, 'the greatest rocker' -- whatever you're called -- it's better than being called the worst, isn't it? I mean, I appreciate the difference in words there. It's nicer to be called the greatest than the worst, but, y'know, I do get embarrassed. But I'm like that, y'know?" :
