Elton John, Madonna, Bon Jovi Make Forbes' Rich List
Forbes magazine has listed its 25 highest paid musicians for 2013 with Madonna topping the list with earnings of $125 million. One again, the list was dominated by actively touring acts. Coming in second was Lady Gaga, who raked in a cool $80 million, followed slightly by Bon Jovi at Number Three with band earning an impressive $79 million.

Among the veteran rockers who placed on the list were Elton John at Number Eight with $54 million, Paul McCartney at Number 12 with $47 million, Roger Waters at Number 15 with $44 million, and the Rolling Stones who tied with Red Hot Chili Peppers for $40 million. Notably missing from the list was U2, who in 2012 came in at Number Four with earnings of $78 million.

At a reported $3.5 million per gig, Paul McCartney is one of the top paid entertainers in history. He admits that he's constantly amazed at how much time the press spends analyzing his net worth: "Y'know what? I do love it, because people make up about my finances. I mean, even I and my accountants don't actually know my finances, but it's marvelous. (A) couple of years ago I was up to $400 million, and then suddenly, two years later, I'm now up to $700 million? Well, thank you very much. It's not true -- but that's really cool."
