Coming on January 27th is a definitive deluxe box set from the Small Faces. The four-CD box set, Here Come The Nice - The Immediate Years 1967-1969, is limited to 3000 copies worldwide and personally signed by surviving members Kenney Jones and Ian McLagan. The 75-track collection features the cream of the crop from the classic British Invasion combo featuring, Jones, McLagan, and the band's late primary songwriters Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane. Here Come The Nice includes "all the worldwide hit singles -- A & B sides -- and a generous bounty of previously unreleased material -- outtakes, alternate versions, live tracks -- all sourced and remastered from the original tapes and multi-tracks."
Although the Small Faces are a British institution, drummer Kenney Jones told us that to the general rock fan in the U.S., they were nothing more than a Mod-era curiosity until Steve Marriott's work with Humble Pie and the Faces' albums with new recruits Rod Stewart and Ron Wood finally kicked open the doors for the band's work Stateside: "They are two separate bands, but because the Small Faces never came to America, when the Faces came to America, everybody wanted to know about us. So, through the Faces, the Faces got the Small Faces well known in America. So there is that kind of marriage value, if you will -- even though they're two separate bands. There is a wonderful association between the two bands."
