Ron Wood & Mick Taylor Lay Down The Blues In The Big Apple
Rolling Stones guitarists Ron Wood and Mick Taylor teamed up on Thursday night (November 7th) at New York City's Cutting Room, according to The Associated Press. The pair tore through a 90-minute set mainly consisting of Jimmy Reed blues favorites, with such notables as Steven Van Zandt, Micky Dolenz, and Tommy Hilfiger mixed in with the standing room only crowd.

Among the blues classics performed by the Stones guitarists were, " I Ain't Got You, " " Shame, Shame, Shame, " " I'm That Man Down There, " " Big Boss Man, " " Bright Lights Big City, " among others. Except for a brief touch of the Sticky Fingers favorite, " Can't You Hear Me Knocking, " the setlist stayed mostly in a Jimmy Reed-type groove.

During the Stones' recent tours, they've made a concerted effort to play a variety of venues -- including stadiums, arenas, theaters -- and even clubs. Ron Wood told us that there's nothing more exciting than the Stones hitting the stage for a club gig: " Everybody's hot, it's rockin', it's steaming, and, y'know, it's rock n' roll, and anything goes. In the club, people can just let their hair down and just go with it. "
With Mick Taylor now seemingly back in the Rolling Stones fold, we asked him if he had any apprehensions regarding rejoining the band prior its 50 & Counting Tour: " Well, I had my doubts before I did the O2 show in London, but I think after I did two shows in London with them -- and a rehearsal -- I was very confident that if they wanted things to continue, they would.
