Stevie Nicks Says 'Game of Thrones' Helped Her Battle Depression
Stevie Nicks claims that HBO's Game Of Thrones saved her from depression. Nicks told Herald Scotland that following the recent death of her mother; the show actually brought her back to life, revealing, "I didn't go (to the studio). I didn't want to go. But it wasn't just that -- I didn't want to go anywhere. I didn't leave the house for almost five months. I worked on the edit of my documentary about the making of In Your Dreams. And then I got pneumonia. With my pneumonia and my mother's death I watched the entire first season of Game Of Thrones -- so that was great! That certainly took my mind off everything."

The Fleetwood Mac singer went on to say that the series has also inspired her creatively: "I would love to write some music for Game Of Thrones. I've written a bunch of poetry about it -- one for each of the characters. On Jon Snow. . . On Arya. . . On Cersei, and Jaime."

Nicks admitted that author, George R.R. Martin, leaves her awestruck, saying, "It blows my mind that he's able to create this vast, interlinked world. As a songwriter I write little movies. But I can't imagine sitting down and writing even one small book."

Stevie Nicks told us that the simple act of performing is the very thing that ensures a singer's future: "I plan to sing, y'know? Opera singers sing into their 80's. But I do plan to be out there singing when I am a seriously older woman, because I think my voice will still be really good. Because I'm not gonna let it go. And it really is all about. . . Y'know, the people that can't sing anymore that had great voices are the people that went away for five years and then just decide to come back. And you just can't make a comeback. Comebacks are just no good. You have to just keep singing."

Fleetwood Mac performs tonight (October 23rd) in Stockholm, Sweden.
