Paul McCartney Has No Problem With Miley Cyrus Twerking
Paul McCartney doesn't see anything wrong with Miley Cyrus's controversial bumping and grinding, or "twerking," which caused such a firestorm at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. Speaking with Sky News, McCartney said, "Come on, we've seen worse than that!" He added, "I watched it as an experiment to check, but you look at it and you say 'what's everyone shouting about?' I think it was only mildly shocking . . . it wasn't explicit at all."

The former Beatle also said he had no problem with his 10-year-old daughter watching Cyrus strut her stuff.

McCartney also had kind words for pop boy band One Direction, saying, "They're young, beautiful boys and that's the attraction. But they can sing and they make good records . . . and that the girls love them."

But he warned against comparing the group to the Beatles, saying, "I always think it's unfortunate for a band to be called the new Beatles because it can be the kiss of death. People expect you to live up to what we did, and we did what we did in a particular period in time, which is very different from now."

McCartney is promoting his 16th solo album, called New, which came out on Tuesday (October 15th) and is his first new studio effort in six years.
