Linda Ronstadt Didn't Want To Write A 'Kiss And Tell'
Linda Ronstadt has just published her autobiography Simple Dreams: A Musical Memoir. In the book, Ronstadt, who has since revealed that she's battling Parkinson's disease, has chosen to take the high road by focusing first and foremost on her musical journey.

Ronstadt explained to us how she came to become an author after years of shunning the notion of writing an autobiography: "A publishing company sent me a lovely letter and a book by (opera singer) Renee Fleming and one by Roseanne Cash, saying, 'We'd love a book like this. Y'know, it doesn't have to be, y'know, a kiss and tell book, or anything like that -- just about your work and how you went about it.' I was impressed with the Renee Fleming book, I was impressed with Roseanne Cash's book, and I thought, 'Y'know, maybe I can write a book like this.' But, I wasn't a writer, I hadn't had any experience writing, I never kept a journal (laughs), I never kept a diary, and so, I never wrote anything past a thank you note, practically. So, I thought, 'Well, I'll write a little something, and see what they think' -- and they liked it!"
