Kiss Offers Tim Tebow Three-Year Contract For AFL Team
Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are offering a three-year contract to former Broncos, Jets, and Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow for their Arena Football League team, The L.A. Kiss. The New York Daily News reported that after being cut from New England, Tebow has passed on offers to play for the CFL and rugby teams. The paper reported, "at least one NFL team reached out to gauge his interest in trying a position other than quarterback, but he declined."
Gene Simmons said in a statement: "Acquiring Tebow would not only be a great investment for the team, but his exciting style of play would definitely send shock-waves through the League. We're excited for the opportunity to see him with an L.A. Kiss uniform on, and for the L.A. Kiss fans to be rockin' their Tebow shirts and jerseys."
Paul Stanley added: "His joining us would mean great things for his fans and for our team, especially from a business standpoint."
The financial details of what Tebow is being offered by Simmons and Stanley were not made public.
A while back, Gene Simmons told us about some prospective business deals he was working on, proving that he has many other interests beyond being a bassist in a legendary rock band: "There's some real estate deals in China. There are eight different projects -- one is a 55-story skyscraper, a theme park, and lots of other stuff; a cable television network; some stocks. I mean, I can't be too specific about this stuff, but there's a lot of big stuff, any one of which could make Kiss, the entire entity, look like a popcorn fart -- but would be nowhere near as much fun."
