Report: Bruce Springsteen About To Announce First 2014 Dates
According to reports, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band are planning a second leg of Down Under dates in 2014. Rolling Stone reported that an Australian radio station posted six tour stops on its website for "The Boss" -- but quickly took them down. Luckily the fan page BruceTour.blogspot.com was able to capture the station's tour announcement, which shows listed for February 7th - Perth; February 11th - Adelaide; February 15 - Melbourne‬; February 19 - Sydney; February 22 - Huntsville; and February 26th - Brisbane.

During his recent South By Southwest keynote address in Austin, Bruce Springsteen stressed the importance of knowing his craft by the time he was signed to Columbia Records in 1972: "I had nights and nights of bar playing behind me to bring my songs home. Young musicians -- learn how to bring it live and then bring it night after night after night after night, your audience will remember you."

When we last caught up with him, guitarist Nils Lofgren told us that without exception, the E Street Band remains the best oiled ensemble in the rock era: "To me it's. . . I think honestly they're as great a band as there's ever been in rock n' roll history -- y'know, selfishly. Because of the size of the band, the musicianship and the breadth of the songwriting over 40 years, I think it's the best band in history."

Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band tour dates (subject to change):
September 12 - Santiago, Chile - Movistar Arena
September 14 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Estadio GEBA
September 18 - Sao Paulo, Brazil - Espaco das Americas
September 21 - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - Rock In Rio - Rio De Janeiro at Rock City (with John Mayer)
