Neil Young Releasing Vintage 1970 Club Gig
Neil Young will tentatively issue his latest vault release on September 6th, called Live At The Cellar Door 1970, as part of his ongoing "Performance Archive Series." The acoustic collection is culled from Young's six shows recorded at the Washington, D.C. venue on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd, 1970 -- with an early and late show each day.

Thrasherswheat.org reported that back in 2009 Young told Guitar World magazine about his plans to release the show: "Around 1970 I played a show at the Cellar Door club in Washington, D.C. That show was taped, but we don't have enough great takes to release it as its own disc."

Longtime friend and collaborator David Crosby says that Young's moral integrity has always stood side-by-side with his talent: "That's basically the deal. I think it's one of the things that I've always admired about him, is that right, wrong or indifferent, he continues to grow. And I think that's always been something that I've always wanted to do and continue to do."

The tracklisting to Neil Young's Live At The Cellar Door 1970 is: "On The Way Home," "Tell Me Why," "Only Love Can Break Your Heart," "Old Man," "Down By The River," "After The Gold Rush," "Expecting To Fly," "Flying On The Ground Is Wrong," "Bad Fog Of Loneliness," and "See The Sky About To Rain."
