Donovan Says He Returned To Nashville To Record New LP
Monday, July 22, 2013
Donovan said he returned to Nashville to record his new album, Shadows of Blue. He told Rolling Stone, "I began in Nashville. I learned very quickly that southern music was very instrumental in this extraordinary world I entered, and country music led to Rock & Roll."
The singer explained that once he made the decision to go to Nashville, he revisited to some of his unreleased songs that had been written about 30 years ago. He said, "I've got hundreds of cassettes, of course. They were ready to go. When I played them, it became clear what these songs were doing was something extraordinary."
