The Doobie Brothers Stretching ummer Tour Through November
The Doobie Brothers have always been known as road dogs -- but their current summer tour is ending closer to Thanksgiving than Labor Day! The Doobies are out on the road having recently released their career-spanning documentary, called Let The Music Play - The Story Of The Doobie Brothers. The film, which chronicles the Doobies' long and storied history starting back in 1970 in Northern California, includes new and exclusive interviews with past and longtime bandmembers. The Doobies will next perform on Saturday (June 29th) in Atlantic City, New Jersey -- and as of now -- wraps up their dates for the year on November 7th in Winnie, Texas.
Michael McDonald, who sang and played keyboards in the Doobies from 1975 to 1982, told us that the band's current lineup, led by singer-guitarists Tom Johnston and Patrick Simmons, is better than it's ever been: "The Doobies, as they are now -- y'know, they sound better than ever. I think it's probably the best incarnation of the group. One hit single, and I think everybody will realize they're just as good or better than ever. A lot of the stuff that Tommy and Pat have been writing is even better than the stuff that they had the huge hits with -- y'know, is, to me, every bit as powerful."
