Glen Campbell Struggling With Alzheimer's
Glen Campbell has been suffering with Alzheimer's for the last two years, and now, it seems, the disease has really taken a toll on the legendary singer. In this week's Country Weekly cover story article, Glen's family says the singer is struggling.
Glen's wife, Kim, their daughter, Ashley, and Glen's producer, Julian Raymond, told the magazine that he now requires constant attention, has trouble speaking and most certainly can no longer tour.
Kim says Glen has experienced some typical side effects of Alzheimer's including anxiety, agitation and depression. She said, "One time, he couldn't use the television remote. He knew what it was but couldn't figure out how to use it. And he got so agitated that he threw the remote at the television."
Ashley says her dad can't remember a lot of the lyrics to his songs, adding, "It's heartbreaking to see this disease robbing him of what he does best."
Glen is supposed to release an album of re-recorded hits called See You There on August 13th.
