Former Simon & Garfunkel star Art Garfunkel performed an intimate acoustic set earlier this month at the Great Neck Arts Center on Long Island on June 7th. Unfortunately for Garfunkel, the show did not go off with out a hitch. Page Six reports that a woman had to be taken out on a stretcher due to excitement during the show which was billed as An Intimate Rehearsal.
That wasn't the only drama as North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kalman sat in the front row during the show and when his cellphone started buzzing, Garfunkel walked off the stage. A witness explained, "Art stormed off stage, only to return 10 minutes later to finish his set when Jon apologized."
A rep from Kalman told the paper, "Art Garfunkel was brilliant and gracious, and his music sounds better without a buzzing cellphone."
