Clint Eastwood To Direct Movie Version Of 'Jersey Boys'
Wednesday, June 12, 2013
Clint Eastwood is slated to direct the big screen version of the Broadway hit musical, Jersey Boys, which is based on the life and career of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons. According to SlashFilm.com, Eastwood is shying away from using big names to fill the musical's roles -- as was the case in such Broadway movie hits as Dreamgirls and Les Miserables -- and is said to be scouting the various companies currently touring Jersey Boys. Last year, when Jon Favreau was attached to direct the movie, he held an open casting call for the four leads.
Jersey Boys features all of Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons' biggest hits, including "Sherry," "Rag Doll," "Let's Hang On" "Swearin' To God," and many more. Valli told us that he's glad that through the years his music was varied enough to always stay fresh to him: "I've had an opportunity to record different kinds of songs, so the different kinds of songs that I've recorded over the years have made the difference for me."
