Rolling Stones Rock Hall Exhibit Showcases Classic Instruments
Running now at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is the first major Rolling Stones exhibit, called Rolling Stones: 50 Years Of Satisfaction. The exhibit, which was fully endorsed by the Stones, features numerous items from their band archive -- along with priceless pieces from the world's preeminent collectors. 50 Years Of Satisfaction will run at the Rock Hall through March 2014.
Craig Inciardi, the Associate Curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum explained that for a Stones fan, being only feet away from some of the band's legendary instruments is a dream come true: "We have Keith Richards' Harmony 12-string guitar that he used on the recording of 'As Tears Go By' and 'Good Times, Bad Times,' among others. And whenever you hear a song that has a 12-string guitar on it throughout the '60s -- this is the guitar that he used in the studio to record. He also wrote on the guitar. The song 'Tell Me,' which is their first hit that they wrote themselves, you can hear this guitar clearly on there."
