Duane Allman's Daughter Writing Memoir
Recently released is the historic seven disc set, Skydog: The Duane Allman Retrospective. The collection was compiled in part by Duane Allman's only child, daughter Galadrielle Allman, who is currently put the finishing touches on an exhaustive and heartfelt biography of her father. Skydog -- which has been receiving rave reviews across the board -- spotlights Allman's timeless session work on records by Aretha Franklin, Herbie Mann, Boz Scaggs, Ronnie Hawkins, Wilson Pickett, Arthur Conley, King Curtis, the Sweet Inspirations, John Hammond, Lulu, Delaney & Bonnie & Friends, Derek & The Dominoes, and many more -- along with his work with his brother Gregg in the Allman Brothers Band and in their pre-fame configurations.

Galadrielle, who was only two at the time of Duane's death, told us that she was able to learn invaluable stories about her father from his mother Geraldine Allman: "She raised two sons alone. Y'know, she went back to school to become an accountant so that she could support them. She's an incredible woman. And she is such a truth teller, too. So I got a lot of. . . a real strong sense of, as a child, of his stubbornness, (laughs) his strength. She says that even as a toddler himself, he was irrepressible, always curious, y'know, active, didn't like to be held, wanted to stand on his own. He really had this fire in him all through his life."
