Stevie Nicks Intends On Singing Until Old Age
Stevie Nicks says that because she's taken care of her voice, she intends to be singing well into her old age. Nicks, who'll turn 65 in May, is currently in rehearsals for Fleetwood Mac's first tour in three years. The band -- featuring Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, and John McVie -- kicks off its 2013 dates on April 4th in Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena.
Stevie Nicks told us that the simple act of performing is the very thing that ensures a singer's future: "I plan to sing, y'know? Opera singers sing into their 80's. But I do plan to be out there singing when I am a seriously older woman, because I think my voice will still be really good. Because I'm not gonna let it go. And it really is all about. . . Y'know, the people that can't sing anymore that had great voices are the people that went away for five years and then just decide to come back. And you just can't make a comeback. Comebacks are just no good. You have to just keep singing."
