Paul McCartney Anounces 'Out There' Tour, First Polish Gig
Paul McCartney has announced the first dates of his 2013 "Out There" world tour. McCartney is set to perform his first ever show in Poland on June 22nd at Warsaw's National Stadium and on June 27th, will play Vienna's Happel Stadium. The tour is expected to also include both North and South American dates. It's doubtful that McCartney will be releasing a full itinerary, choosing instead to announce only a few shows at a time. Insiders say that McCartney may be hitting the States sometime in November.
McCartney explained that his pre-show regimen is a world away from the cloak and dagger process of getting the Beatles into the venues prior to their '60s concerts: "It's really nice. Y'know, sometimes I will do, like, a radio (interview) on the way in. 'Cause it's kind of exciting; you're in a town and you're actually in the police motorcade, and you're actually going to the venue. And I always think it's really cool -- if I was the listener -- I'd think it's really cool: 'Yeah! Wow, he's in the town, and yeah!' y'know? And we get in and we do a soundcheck, just sort of check out our instruments and stuff. And often do a bunch of songs that we don't do in the show in the evening."
Last month, McCartney's most recent studio set, Kisses On The Bottom, won the Grammy for "Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album."
McCartney's latest track, "Cut Me Some Slack," was recorded with the surviving members of Nirvana -- Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear-- and is featured on the Sound City soundtrack album, Sound City: Real To Reel.
