Quick Takes On Van Halen, Billy Joel, Billy Wyman And U2
Van Halen and Billy Joel will headline Australia's inaugural two-day Stone Music Festival. Van Halen will perform on April 20th, and Billy will close the festival on April 21st. The Festival marks Van Halen's first Australian show in 15 years, and their first-ever with David Lee Roth Down Under. (Ultimate Classic Rock)
Former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman is currently writing a second "warts-and-all" memoir of his time with the band. Wyman, who's now 76, and performed during the band's 50th anniversary shows in London late last year, told The Telegraph: "I'm going through my old diaries and boxes full of stuff I collected over the years, but it's finding it all that's the problem. I'm only up to 1972 at the moment."
In 1990, Wyman published his memoir of his time with the Stones, titled Stone Alone. He followed that in 2003 with a lavish 500-plus page oversized coffee table book, Rolling With The Stones. After that he published Bill Wyman's Blues Odyssey, chronicling the history of blues music in the south, and most recently The Stones - A History in Cartoons, which includes Wyman's doodles from over the years.
U2 bassist Adam Clayton has sold his New York City home to actor Bruce Willis, who paid a reported $8.7 million for the three-bedroom property on Central Park West. The place, which is actually two apartments combined into one, comes with direct views of the park and four full bathrooms. Clayton, who's had it on the market since October, bought the first apartment in 1993 for $620,000 and the second the following year for $430,000. (
