Quick Takes on Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, and The 55th Annual Grammy Awards
Bruce Springsteen is among the many stars who'll appear in CBS' tribute to Whitney Houston, called, The Grammys Will Go On: A Death In The Family. The special deals with the tragedy of Houston's death on February 11th, 2012 -- just 24 hours before the live Grammy telecast. Among the other notables featured in the memorial are Katy Perry, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, LL Cool J, Jennifer Hudson, and many more. Eric Clapton's upcoming studio set, Old Sock, which is due out on March 12th, features several of "Slowhand's" old friends pitching in on various tracks, including Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan, Steve Winwood, J.J. Cale, and longtime solo Beatles sideman, drummer Jim Keltner. (Gibson.com)
16-time Grammy Award winner Sting will join Bruno Mars and Rhianna for a special performance on Sunday, February 10th at The 55th Annual Grammy Awards shown live on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/PST.
Coming on March 19th is Love For Levon, which was filmed and recorded live on October 3rd at East Rutherford, New Jersey's concert in honor of the late Band drummer Levon Helm. All net proceeds from the show went to help support Helm's lasting legacy by helping his estate keep ownership of his home, barn and studio, and to continue "The Midnight Ramble Sessions."
