Mick Jagger Still Pondering 2013 Rolling Stones Tour Plans
Mick Jagger says that he's still fielding the live offers for the Rolling Stones. After a test run of a handful of shows in France, Britain, and the U.S late last year, all signs are pointing to the band hitting the road sometime this year. Jagger gave NME an update as to where the Stones are in terms of locking down dates for their first tour in over five years, explaining, "Well, I'm just looking at what offers are coming in for this year and sorting them out. I hate announcing things when they're not booked. People are always like, 'Yakety yak, you didn't do that in the end', and I say, 'Well, yeah, we never really announced it!' All I'm doing at the moment is sifting through the possibilities, looking at the dates and how each one can fit in and so on. And then we'll see what we can come out with."
When pressed about the Stones performing at England's massive Glastonbury Festival at the end of June, Jagger explained, "There are other things in the world, you know, apart from Glastonbury! But then again, Glastonbury is very important. It seems to be very important to my children -- highlight of their year!"
Rolling Stones producer Don Was has been working with the band for the past two decades and was behind the boards for their recently released tracks "Doom And Gloom" and "One More Shot." We asked him for a Stones touring update: "I think they're going to meet shortly and figure what to do. I, I don't think you've heard the last of them (laughs)." )
Although Mick Jagger will be turning 70 this July, that doesn't mean that he pulls any punches or holds anything back once he hits the stage: "Listen when you do at 19, you do things you can't (laughs) do at my age. But I still try to make the show as (laughs) energetic as I can make it."
