Emmylou Harris has officially been charged with hit-and-run by the Los Angeles District Attorney. The singer allegedly crashed her rental car into the back of another car on a freeway in L.A. last October and then left the scene.
TMZ reports the misdemeanor charge was brought against Emmylou on Wednesday (January 30th).
Her attorney has already entered a "not guilty" plea.
The other driver filed a police report claiming that Emmylou took off, while Emmylou's spokesperson previously said that it was a "minor traffic accident," and that she "unintentionally rubbed bumpers with another vehicle." The singer reportedly didn't realize she had actually made contact with the other car.
Emmylou faces up to six months in jail if convicted on the hit-and-run charge.
