Elton John and partner David Furnish released the first photos of their newborn son, Elijah, who was born on January 11th. The couple, along with their two-year-old son Zachary, posed for the shots for Britain's Hello magazine. Elton is called "Daddy" with Furnish called "Papa" by the children.
Elton, who was in the delivery room with Furnish for the birth, spoke about both boys' surrogate mother, saying, "We have a very close bond with her and were in constant touch throughout the pregnancy. She has given us two amazing gifts and we in turn have a duty of care to her and are fiercely protective of her anonymity. When another child is born, our depth of love just grows deeper and wider, so it was very emotional."
Elton John has shed the outlandish stage costumes, which were his trademark in the '70s and '80s -- the result he credits to his maturing years: "There are certain things that I don't do anymore. As you get older, you change the way you think, the way you dress. Um, I always liked to dress a little differently, from other people. But, I'm nowhere near the fashion victim that I was a long time ago."
