Bruce Springsteen & Lay Gaga Set For Rolling Stones Pay-Per-View Show
The Rolling Stones announced that Bruce Springsteen, the Black Keys, and Lady Gaga will be the special guests for their December 15th One More Shot: The Rolling Stones Live pay-per-view concert, recorded at Newark's Prudential Center. The Stones posted a statement announcing the guests on their app, saying: "We're excited these extraordinary artists, Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga and the Black Keys, agreed to help celebrate our 50th anniversary as we share the night live with our fans all over the world. . . Now the fun begins of trying to figure out the best songs to perform together."
With millions of fans tuning into the Stones' upcoming pay per view special, it's amazing to think how the band revolutionized the entire state of live performance in just under 50 years. Drummer Charlie Watts recalled a typical gig on the band's first U.S. tour back in 1964: "Our first tour of America, I remember going to someplace, I don't know where it was, but it was in one of these, like, cow palaces, or something. And it was, like, 200 people in this huge arena all around the bandstand. And we drove in in a motorcade. That was thanks to the Beatles. I mean, they expected us to be like that."
The Rolling Stones will next perform on Thursday (December 13th) at the Prudential Center. There's been no word as to whether former Stones Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor will once again join the band onstage for their respective cameos.
Coming to DVD and Blu-ray next month is the Stones new documentary, Crossfire Hurricane. There's been no word yet on whether the disc will feature any bonus material.
The One More Shot: The Rolling Stones Live pay-per-view concert begins at 9 p.m.
