Coming on March 5th is the latest Jimi Hendrix vault release, called, People, Hell and Angels. Rolling Stone reported that the material, which was recorded in 1968 and 1969, is yet another dip into the sessions for his infamous unfinished fourth album, First Rays Of The New Rising Sun, with "Hendrix (toying) with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar, exploring fresh diversions from his legendary guitar work." Hendrix would have turned 70 on Tuesday (November 27th).
The collection follows 2010's multi-disc set, West Coast Seattle Boy: The Jimi Hendrix Anthology, and Valleys Of Neptune, which were released earlier that year.
Graham Nash has recently been mining Stephen Stills solo tape vault for a career-spanning retrospective, which will obviously be of interest to longtime Hendrix collectors: "Among all that stuff, he's got an album that he wants to put together of him playing with Hendrix in London the early '70s. It sounds like Stephen in the studio with Jimi (laughs).") )
