Bon Jovi Announces Full North American Tour Itinery
Bon Jovi has just announced the full North American tour itinerary for its Because We Can tour. The 33-date trek now kicks off on February 9th in Uncasville, Connecticut and winds down on April 25th in San Jose, California. In addition to that, the band will return to the States for three summer stadium gigs -- July 12th at Chicago's Soldier Field and July 24th and 25th East Rutherford, New Jersey's MetLife Stadium
Following the North American dates, the band already has shows on the books for South Africa, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the UK, Ireland, Poland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Italy, and Switzerland.
Guitarist Richie Sambora tells us how he, along with frontman Jon Bon Jovi, and the rest of the group keep things fresh on stage: "Y'know we have lots of songs to choose from. Obviously we are the band of the people, and we give the people the songs they want to hear. And we have 15 albums to choose from. And Jon is always calling what we call audibles -- just like a quarterback on a football field on our set-list every night we have a thing called audibles. You can interject any song at any point in time. And we sound check every day. So we're always trying out new stuff to play in the shows and that's how we keep it fresh."
Sambora revealed Bon Jovi's secret at staying relevant all of these years: "Good songs, y'know. Just songs that connect with people from a lyrical stand-point. I think that Jon and I as writers, we're lucky enough to somehow hit a nerve where you write a song that is something about what we're feeling that translate to audiences across the globe. Songs like 'Livin' On A Prayer,' a song like 'We Weren't Born To Follow' was another one that became a big hit."
Bon Jovi will be releasing its 12th studio album, What About Now, sometime in the spring. The set marks the band's first all new set since 2009's The Circle.
