Styx has booked a handful of dates for December, January, and February. As it stands now, the band, who is currently on tour, will wrap up their dates for the year on December 30th in Merrillville, Indiana, and kick off their 2013 shows on January 30th in Denver, Colorado. On November 16th and 17 Styx will perform 1977's The Grand Illusion and 1978's Pieces Of Eight in their entirety, along with an smattering of their greatest hits. There's been no announcement as to whether the upcoming shows will also be full album gigs.
Co-founding guitarist James "J.Y." Young told us that no matter what type of audience the band plays for, their classic late-'70s albums are cornerstones to each and every show: "Our set as performed over the last 13 concert seasons, 12 concert seasons -- we're in our 13th now with this lineup in the post-(Dennis) DeYoung-era for the band -- we've drawn heavily from The Grand Illusion album every night and draw reasonably heavily from Pieces Of Eight."
